Jamaïque : un enfant incité par des adultes à fumer et à boire de l’alcool (Vidéo)

Dans une vidéo publiée sur les réseaux sociaux depuis le lundi 21 septembre, on entend les voix d’un homme et d’une femme inciter un enfant à fumer une cigarette et à boire de l’alcool contenu dans une bouteille.

L’homme incite l’enfant à continuer de fumer alors qu’il toussait. Une femme demande alors au mineur de tenir et de siroter une boisson alcoolisée dans la bouteille.

Un utilisateur de Twitter a publié la vidéo et a tagué le compte de la Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF). La police a répondu en remerciant l’utilisateur d’avoir dénoncé ces actes.

Le clip, qui a suscité des réactions d’indignation et de détresse de la part des utilisateurs des médias sociaux, fait maintenant l’objet d’une enquête du Bureau du protecteur des enfants (OCA) en collaboration avec la police et d’autres agences d’État, a déclaré l’avocat des enfants, Diahann Gordon Harrison, à la Jamaïque.

« Nous avons fait des progrès et avons, en fait, établi un contact avec une personne qui, espérons-le, nous mènera à la personne réelle qui a créé la vidéo et l’a également publiée, car nous avons intérêt à savoir pourquoi la vidéo a été faite, ce qui se passe avec cet enfant en particulier et l’exposition négative que nous avons vue démontrée dans ce clip particulier, car si cela se passe dans un clip, alors qui peut savoir ce qui se passe à l’extérieur en termes de contexte général », a révélé Gordon Harrison.

« Nous nous attendons à réussir à court terme grâce aux efforts déployés pour localiser l’enfant et à traiter la question dans le respect de la promotion et de la préservation de l’intérêt supérieur de l’enfant », a-t-elle ajouté.

Police launch probe into viral video of toddler smoking and drinking alcohol in Jamaica as adults urge him on The police and the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) in Jamaica are seeking the public’s assistance with locating a toddler shown smoking and drinking alcohol in the presence of encouraging adults. In the 48-second video which surfaced on several social media platforms on Monday, September 21, a man and woman are heard urging the child to smoke cigarette and drinking from a bottle. “Puff it. A di dawg birthday enuh man. A high di dawg high today. Puff it Minty,” the man said as the child coughs while following the instruction. A female then instructs the minor to hold and sip an alcoholic drink in the bottle. “See ‘Ice’ yah. Hold now… Take a sip,” the woman said, amid laughter from other adults who were present. The man further instructed the child. “Trauma today. Puff it out again Minty. Take two puff out ah it again,” A Twitter user posted the video and tagged the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) account. The police responded by thanking the user for bringing the video to their attention. “Hi, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We’ve detected several breaches of the Child Care and Protection Act in this video. Can you provide us, via DM, with any additional information, so we can identify the child?” The JCF tweeted. The CPFSA, through its Facebook page, also appealed to the public on Monday night, for information that could lead to the whereabouts of the child. “We are seeking the public’s assistance to locate this child who was featured in a video on social media today. Anyone with information is being asked to DM us, call 888-PROTECT (776-8328), WhatsApp 876-878-2882, or contact @JamaicaConstabularyForce #ProtekWiPickneyDem,” the post reads. Meanwhile, the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) is also seeking the public’s assistance with locating a child. The CPFSA said anyone with information is being asked to send a message via their social media accounts.
